Momentum– Bonita Springs’ Only Brewery

Standard

Bonita Springs now has a brewery. Although having a soft opening, the time has finally come!  Momentum is now open and making great beer in an area that has a dearth of good beer options.

Located right on Bonita Beach Road in a semi industrial space, the large orange sign is easy to spot and easy to access. Get there early for a parking space, as parking is somewhat limited.  Nearby Dolly’s restaurant has offered parking after 2 pm in their back lot, but it is a short walk to the brewery.

The beers here are great! The atmosphere is friendly and open! There are games for amusement and a large TV that shows sporting events. Now onto the beer!

The Shopping Cart Herbal Ale is an interesting beer.  It has a Belgium style herbal taste but much more hop on the end.  For something that is a little different, this is a great beer to try.

Pierce’s Pale is the only beer here that I don’t really like.  The nose has a slight hop and is somewhat typical of a pale ale but the taste is a bit too bitter with some underlying mercaptan flavors at the end.  I would skip the pale ale as the other beers are much better.

White Noise White IPA is my absolute favorite here– a great combination of the herbalness of a Belgium with the intensity of hops in an IPA.  I have to admit that I judged this beer at a homebrewing competition and all the judges found this beer to be the best hands down.

Dress Down Brown is a great brown ale.  This brew has a nose reminiscent of roasted nuts and a good roasted taste with just a hint of coffee. I am not a brown fan so for me– this was the rare exception of a good, drinkable brown ale.

Tricked Out Stout seems to be the Dress Down Brown on steroids. This has a typical stout nose and flavor. It is a beer that is very true to style with intense coffee like flavors.

The Knee Highs Imperial Red IPA has a great IPA nose up front. The taste starts of sweet as is the case with many imperial IPAs but finishes with a great flavor of hops. It is a beer that is very true to style.

For right now, Momentum is open limited hours.  If you like them on Facebook, you will get notice of open hours (however, it might be with short notice).  Even with short notice, it is worth a trip.  They are not yet doing growlers but hopefully soon. The White Noise needs to come home with me soon!
